Father's Day

So in lieu of everything that has occured in mine, my friends and my families lives over the years I have truely learned the love, heartache, and joy of family celebrations i.e. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc...you get my point. Countless families weighed heavy on my heart yesterday as I got to love on and enjoy my dad and family....the reason, well...there were tears shed first thing in the morning from my family, since this is the first Father's day holiday since losing my grandpa and I KNOW of several friends whom I'm sure mornings started out the same because either they were not blessed with a precious daddy like me, their dad's have been a subject of much heartache and pain, or they have lost their dad's recently due to cancer, heart attack, and just suddenly. We started off our father's day at the Village Church where Matt Chandler did an incredible job, you must podcast it if you missed it. I found myself crying all through worship, partly missing my grandpa, thankful for the Lord seeing my mom through her cancer battle thus far, partly my heart breaking for my friend's and family who's Father's day wasn't going to be like mine-loving, thankful and enjoying their dad.

This was the song they sang that REALLY got to me. Specifically the lines I highlighted!

[Verse 1:]
Lost are saved; find their way; at the sound of Your great name
All condemned; feel no shame, at the sound of Your great name
Every fear; has no place; at the sound of Your great name The enemy; he has to leave; at the sound of Your great name

[Chorus:]
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up; and all the world will praise Your great name

[Verse 2:]
All the weak; find their strength; at the sound of Your great name
Hungry souls; receive grace; at the sound of Your great name
The fatherless; they find their rest; at the sound of Your great name
Sick are healed; and the dead are raised; at the sound of Your great name

[Chorus:]
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up; and all the world will praise Your great name

[Bridge:]
Redeemer, My Healer, Lord Almighty My savior, Defender, You are My King

[Chorus:]
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up; and all the world will praise Your great name

When we left church my mom let me know she cried through the first part of the service also. It is just amazing to know that even though we don't know our future, He does.... I thought Hannah's gift was perfect for my dad, I want one...

This is SO true...glad we can find peace in that.
So with that said, please know that if your Father's day was not like ours that you were heavy on my heart...and I found myself prayerful for each of you.

We decided our family needed something fun and uplifting this Father's Day so we took our dad to Top Golf...we had a blast!! Much needed fun and relaxation and it was even fun for Miss Noelle and mr Holt.:)
