Mom is free!!! Cancer free that is!

Praise the Lord. After a year of chemo my mom is free!! She is cancer free and she is officially receiving NO MO CHEMO:) I think this was the best day for all of us. It was precious after we walked out of Dr.  Munoz's office she grabbed my dad's hand and said, "Honey, I finally get my life back!" Praise Jesus, so thankful that she will no longer have to get chemo every week, lab draws sometimes twice a week, shots sometimes weekly, her port accessed every week, and so much more. She won't have to dread those Tuesday's of driving in getting chemo knowing the next few days were going to be hell.

A few things I learned over this year:
  • My mom is the strongest woman I know
  • I want to ALWAYS suffer well
  • That in suffering we can choose joy or we can choose defeat and watching my mom choose joy daily during this suffering has changed my life
  • That God is SO much bigger than everything we can imagine (Ephesians 3:20)
  • Even when life seems out of control HE is ALWAYS in control
  • Having a close family is the biggest blessing in life
  • I am blessed with the most incredible mom anyone could ask for
  • I LOVE that I have 3 sisters and an incredible daddy who loves us well
  • That God hears us and HE answers
  • What praying without ceasing truly looks like
  • That this year would have been impossible without my sweet husband
  • CANCER SUCKS!
  • We praise Him because he is ALWAYS good!
  • Philippians 4:4-7...rejoice always...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God and the PEACE of God..will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus
  • That my dad has had to be SO strong for our mom even when he felt he might crumble under the weight of sadness but he did it well
  • Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope..Romans 5:3-4
  • That I am surrounded and blessed by the best group of friends!

I wish I had kept a running tab of all the things I learned but that is a glimpse! Thank you for all that have loved and supported us through this last year! She is going to be followed every 3 months for the next several years and we are praying that she is FOREVER healed!
