fall family style

Our family photos are this weekend so I rounded up a few of my favorite fall family styles. I went with a mustard, ivory, chambray theme for our family this year after I fell in love with the cream romper for Addilyn and the dot dress for Isabella. My outfit is always the after thought, next time I'm picking the perfect outfit for myself then the family;) I'm hoping my shirt arrives in time, insert eye roll. I ordered this adorable hat for a few pics as well and I'm doubting it arrives in time, but we will see. I'm still in debate over Cayson's shirt but I think he will wear this chambray one but he has a plaid that might work as well.

I love these color options for family photos as well. Trying to coordinate 5 outfits without being too matchy is tough business!!

Sneak of our last few year family photos and the colors I chose. Apparently I have a thing for black, ivory and blush:)

Toddler sleep favorites

Sleep has evaded us since November 3, 2012 when our precious first born arrived. Our sweet Isabella has honestly in her defense been a relatively great sleeper, she slept through the night at about 9 weeks and besides a little 4 month regression kept on sleeping. That is until she hit 3 and decided she was too cool for naps and that anytime between 5 and 6 am was an approved wake up time:) Therefore, welcome this incredible clock and sleep again. I had a sweet friend warn me that the early rising would turn into middle of the night rising and she was 100% right. What started as early morning turned into her coming to our room at any hour of the night stating, "I'm awake mommy." After several weeks of this we bought the wake up clock and it has been life changing. Isabella is my rule follower so she stays in bed like its her job until that clock turns green:) She proudly walks in our room saying, "Mommy, my clocked turned green." You can set the time for when it turns green and you can also set a nap time or rest time.  So if you have a little one starting to wake up in the middle of the night, meet your new best friend!

We are also huge fans of noise in the kiddos rooms so they don't wake each other up if/when the other wakes up. They each have a fan in their room and we loved using a sound machine when they were smaller.

Isabella and Cayson both started with night terrors pretty early as well and I found that a night light made a world of difference for them! Isabella has a cute little owl Scentsy that we use as her night light we just don't put any Scentsy candles in it.

We don't use tons of essential oils but I do love to diffuse them! This peace and calming is one of my favorites to diffuse!

Stripe sleeping bag||animal sleeping bag- last but not least these adorable sleeping bags are the best for quick trips to grandparents houses or little naps:) Too precious!

Here's to hoping all moms and dads out their get some sleep!

Shop small

Fatherhood tee|||Best Job ever tees||Isabella's dress|||Cayson's shorts|||Cayson's sandals|||Isabella's jellies

I know I share how much I LOVE shopping small on a regular basis but I do. I get asked all the time where I buy my kiddos clothes and it is quite a mix of a few favorite stores and A LOT of small shops. I like unique and fun, what can I say. These Ezra + Eli shirts we are wearing are some of my faves. The one the hubs is wearing was actually part of his father's day gift but Isabella literally could not hold in the surprise. As soon as Dennis walked in the door she said, "Daddy we got you a shirt." Sweet girl, so, of course we gave it to him early:) I have an obsession with June + January and have since Isabella was itty bitty. Something about the swing dresses look so precious on and the lounge shorts are just so perfect for Cayson.

This Tiny Dancer leotard from Kenzie Jaws is a favorite and Isabella is obsessed with her "Ballawina" doll!! We love Candy Kirby Designs. I need another baby just so I can purchase these Knotted gowns in ALL the colors.

So go run, Shop small!!

Silly and wild one

I know I've shared my love for shopping small on so many occasions but it is still true!! I love it. I find some of the most fun, adorable, unique things. I get asked all the time where I shop for the kiddos and honestly it's Gap, Old Navy, Target, Zara, H&M and a ton of small shops I have fallen in love with on Instagram and Etsy. I put the kiddos in these outfits and the pictures ring their personalities SO well. I just adore these two.

We met my sweet friend Jen and her kiddos at the Coop in Frisco where we had Isabella's 2nd birthday party and the kiddos had a blast. We had the place to ourselves for almost an hour. It was too fun, it was the first time we had been back since Cayson could play and enjoy it. Last time we were there he was tiny and I wore him around. Love getting to watch him join in the fun!

To my sweet silly, sassy one and my wild one!! I sure do love you!

happy fall ya'll

Bloomers&Blouse//Fox shoes//Skirt//Cardigan//Jeans//Moccasins

Today is suppose to be the official first day of fall. Texas didn't get the memo with temps still in the 90s but a girl can dream right?! I think shopping for my kid's fall clothes might be one of my favorite seasons to shop for! Love all the colors, the layers….swoon worthy for sure. I am obsessed with shopping small and have found most of the ones I'm obsessed with thanks to good ole Instagram. I've linked up a few of my favorite finds above.

This bloomer and shirt I have had my eye on for months…I stalked Miss Ainsley Mae's fall launch like it was my job and snatched it as fast as humanly possible. Can't wait for Isabella to wear them both!

Isabella had the fox shoes above last year and she was obsessed so I was super excited when Old Navy had them again this year:) And these weathered brown Freshly Picked moccasins have been my favorite far before Cayson was born. We are already on our second size and I have a feeling we will keep getting new ones. They are a staple for us!

Isabella will only wear skirts and dresses these days so I snatched, ummm, maybe 3 skirts from Taylor Joelle and she is obsessed…

We have been obsessed with Love Sick Threads since I bought Isabella her first pair of shorts from her when Isabella was 6 months old. Cayson sported some amazing shorts all summer and I scored these adorable pants as fast as I could when they were posted.

I am obsessed with Beau Hudson…Cayson and Isabella have both had cardigans and hats from them…I purchased 3 more cardigans and a couple hats and can't wait for the weather to be appropriate for them to be worn non-stop;)

Charlie Cocos, Free Babes, Fancy Free Finery are my current hair accessory obsessions:)

Tink and Key, Kate & James shop, Riley Clay and Hello Apparel are some of my current favorite graphic tee shops!

Happy Shopping and Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Toddler outdoor oasis

With summer time in full swing here in Texas we spend SO much time outside and I finally decided we needed to stock up on outdoor gear for the kiddos. We spend so many lunches, play dates, parties, and dinners outside that it was time to be prepared. We have owned a bounce house (thanks to my incredible parents) for a few years now and I totally believe a small one with little toddlers is an incredible must have. We bust that thing out every chance we have:) We had a perfect pool last year as seen here but the hubs could not find it any where so I snatched this one up last minute at Target and it is perfect for a toddler and smaller little ones…Cayson and Isabella love it. This toddler table has already been a life saver…I love that it folds up flat for easy storage and travel. I made a trip to Ikea recently to grab some step stools and found these outdoor chair treasures and this perfect outdoor high chair that we had to have. This high chair is perfection-cheap, easy to clean and perfect for outdoors. I lugged our nice one outside several times and knew we needed a better solution so insert outdoor high char. I honestly wish I would have purchased more than one…I may be back to grab more:)

Having a kid friendly back yard and so called "toddler oasis" is a must in this Texas heat!

red, white and blue kid style

red, white and blue

With Memorial day just passing and 4th of July fast approaching I thought I would share just a few of the (way too many) red, white and blue items I have snatched up for the kiddos….So much cuteness these days…I swear dressing a boy is just as fun and almost as dangerous as girls:)

Ready for the weekend…and NO more rain!!

Baby nursery ideas

So half of the reason I can't wait until the day the baby is born to find out the gender  is because I am a major planner and with that planning I have big ideas for the nursery that are not so gender neutral....here were my 2 nursery ideas....of course we will be going with the boy style but I am SO obsessed with my girl nursery...either praying for another girl or it may become Isabella's big girl room theme one day:)
Baby boy nursery

The hubs has been commissioned to make the wall behind the crib a complete wood plank wall...he has agreed without hesitation...glad its him not me:) I can't wait...not sure about the bedding yet but I love, love navy blue stripes for boys so we will see...I will probably also opt for an antique dresser painted like the one above...still on the hunt I found one that I loved but it was a little feminine...will keep my hunt going but love the white and dark combo... I will also probably be getting a pouf to use as the ottoman again as well...trying to be a little more budget friendly this time around so we will see if I succeed;)

Baby girl nursery

I love, love decorating nurseries:) Pretty obsessed with this sweet feminine nursery...if there isn't another girl in our future this room will some how make it into our home:)

Current crushes

Oh my please tell me I am not the only one that creates a wish list almost a mile long...now that I have the lil miss I not only have a wish list for me and the house, but for her as well... here are my current crushes....I'm hoping they all eventually end up in our home and closets:)

I'm obsessed with white and ivory...I'm sure it is apparent by Isabella's nursery...

Best thing in the world....you can finally shop H&M online...say what?!  This is speaking my love language...I am obessessd with baby cardigans.....can not get enough...these moccs...one of my faves...ordered them big enough to hopefully last the winter...loving these boots I've debated Uggs but I think these are pretty sweet...love, love, loving floral print pants for the lil miss...

Momma style

I have been wanting a pair of cute boyfriend jeans for fall....loving these...I have had my eye on some lace shorts but need to find time to actually shop for some:) Oh and the shoes and purse whats not to love.....now that 99% of the time I'm carrying a diaper bag a nice cross body is all I need to grab and go...

the home

Its funny how much our taste changes huh....my house is currently all dark cabinets and furniture...I'm obsessed and loving all things white and clean these days for homes....one day....I can't change anything now since none of our stuff is even 2 years old...eek....we do need a bigger dining room table and I am lusting after this one....I want a tufted head board for one of our guest rooms and have actually had my eye on the one above for Isabella's future big girl room...its just like her crib...

I'm wanting to change out some of our light fixtures.....loving this simple one...
I recently shattered my favorite drink dispenser and have had my eye out for a new one....loving this adorable honey dispenser...I'm all about cute, adorable kitchen gadgets.....

What are you currently crushing after?

3 months

I seriously cannot believe I am a mommy to a 3 month old...man, time please, please slow down...My sweet baby is growing up WAY too fast!! One thing I have heard and am taking so seriously is to love EVERY stage and to not wish it away because as soon as you blink that one is gone and you are on to your next. Miss Isabella you have grown up and changed SO much this month....You are SO playful and active! I love, love our mornings together!! When you wake up I come up and before picking you up I unswaddle you, it is the most precious thing ever, you smile SO big and throw both arms above your head and arch your back to stretch. You are SO incredibly smiley now and squeal with excitement. You found your hands and love to play with your tongue!! I find myself taking SO many pictures...I never want to forget a single one of these moments!! You have brought us SO much joy! You are the best thing that has ever happened to us. I truly believe that saying that "having a child is like having your heart walking around outside your body!" We moved you to your big girl room and crib this month and you love it...I think the mattress and incredible minky sheet did the trick. You are sleeping 7 hours almost 8 hours at night now. We have dropped your late night feeding so your last feeding is now about 9:30 at night. You still LOVE bath time!! mommy loves it too. You think it is quite funny to watch Mimi dance and you don't mind mommy's singing so much. My singing actually calms you....who would have thought thank goodness you have no idea what a good tune sounds like;)

You are getting better at not hating tummy time...its super cute because you coo so much while doing tummy time...Mimi says you are telling me that this holding your head up stuff is tough...You have incredible head control now I can actually sit you up in my lap and you just look around. You are still in love with your swing...I think it is your fave....you are also obsessed with the TV. If you are playing on your mat and the TV is on you crane your neck until you can see it:) You also love the mirror and we use the iPhone so you can see yourself a lot...thanks Popi for the idea..You love it. I have to brag on your daddy a bit, he has had daddy duty a couple of times and he has done phenomenal, once or twice you may have been a little fussy and given him a run for his money but he has done great. He never complains!! You can still be a little finicky with the bottle and that is part of the problem...I secretly don't mind because that just makes me feel SO much more needed;) Some days you love it and don't mind it and others you think just an ounce is enough! You are actually starting to see and watch Zoe and Dixie...they have gotten braver and come in for a kiss every once in a while and you don't seem to mind. It is SO obvious now when you get sleepy you have this very specific whine/cry...I told daddy I secretly love it because you still look like a newborn when you do it! I may have gone just a bit crazy with the photo-op I'm always afraid I might miss something you wouldn't give me your really big smile but we got some cute ones! Next time I'll time it better and not right before nap time.
