2 months

Happy happy 2 months little pumpkin!! (Your dad and I have called you that since day one, I find it very fitting since our last bumpdate you were the size of a pumpkin and I called you that on that day:) I have always known I wanted kids and the desire to have you grew so strong leading up to the months we found out we were pregnant with you but if you had told me the love that we would have for you then I would never have been able to fathom how much. When I lay you down to sleep at night I sing the same song my parents used to sing to us:

May the Lord bless you and keep you
May He turn his face towards you and
give you peace, and give you peace
FOREVER

(Disclaimer: Your mom CANNOT sing whatsoever, so bad so that I have debated paying a professional to sing it so I can play it for you at night in hopes that maybe you hearing a good singer you will be able to sing good;) But as I was singing this song to you on the night you turned 2 months tears just kept flowing and I could barely get out the words. My love and your dads for you is indescribable. The amount of joy you have brought us is immeasurable.
This month you have become so much more alert and playful. You love to look at your bright toys and mobile above your swing. You absolutely LOVE lights and throw your head back to look at them when being held. You had what was probably your first cold thanks to your Mimi;) It wasn't too bad you just had some nasal congestion but no fever. You actually do really well with saline nose spray, way better than me, but are not a fan of the suctioning!! This was a VERY eventful month....You went to your first book club with mommy, first Christmas party, first church service on Christmas Eve, traveled to stay at your Mamaw's with us for Christmas, stayed at your Mimi and Popi's for Christmas, had your first Christmas, and took your first family trip to San Antonio. I love to watch you smile and coo all day!! My life feels so complete now that you are here and I am a mommy. Clique, maybe, but it is truly how I feel. You have been so much happier now that you are on Prevacid....so thankful you are no longer screaming in pain after nursing. You nurse every 3 hours during the day....our routine is eat, play, sleep repeat:) I love it. You nap pretty much anywhere: your swing, the boppy lounger, bouncer and you take at least 1 nap a day in your crib or pack n play!! You LOVE your crib..I think its the soft minky sheet:) We moved you into the study in your pack in play when you turned 8 weeks old...it was actually kinda sad for me to not have you be right there but I knew it was best for you and you have done great with that. You sleep 6-7 hours at night, wake to nurse then sleep for another 2-3 hours! So thankful for that! I find myself tearing up all the time....I know, I know I have always worn my emotions on my sleeve and tear up easily but since having you I am still just so in awe all the time that you are mine that I tear up when I sing to you, when you are so happy and laughing, even this morning when we were playing and I was singing Taylor Swift to you....haha....being a mommy to you is still SO surreal and by far the best thing the Lord has ever blessed me with!!
